Practice Positive Reinforcement

Training is an essential part of bonding with your pet, especially for dogs some other animals that benefit from structure.  Positive reinforcement–rewarding good behavior with treats, praise, or attention–is a highly effective way to teach your pet commands and boundaries.

When you reward your pet’s positive behavior, it reinforces their trust in you as they associate you with positive experiences.  This approach also helps your pet feel more comfortable learning new things, knowing they won’t be punished for mistakes.  Training sessions are a fantastic opportunity to communicate with your pet and show them your encouragement and support.
